Children (31-40)
Gareth's 30s were probably his most productive years. It was during this time that he took a brave step and set himself up as a small business owner. He rented office space in a complex near Lindfield station, so the commute to work would be very short and Unify Corporation (Australia) became a successful venture. Over the next few years Gareth had the fortune to find a couple of terrific guys to work with him and he settled into a very relaxed business environment.
With the business going well, the renovations almost complete, the plants and cat surviving, it was time to take another big leap - yes, children @#$!!!!!!!
1993 saw the birth of Dylan and with this Gareth learned about lack of sleep, how important the laundry is and how one should never arrive home after the designated time, for fear that baby rockers would come hurtling towards him when least expected. As with all first babies, copious photo albums were produced and Dylan became the focus of all attention.
It took four years before Gareth could plough Tina with enough alcohol to be talked into going this route again and in 1997, Samantha arrived - the first girl to be born into the Price family for 32 years.
During this time Gareth somehow managed to pursue another of his interests which was looking at property on the northern beaches of Sydney. It was a dream of his to one day live in the Pittwater area and 1996 saw him take a gigantic step toward reaching that goal. A run down property in Bayview (one of his favoured suburbs) was purchased and rented out, only to be sold rather quickly (10 months later) in a transaction that was just meant to be, in order to purchase his dream, 6 Kara Cres Bayview. As with all good things, it took a while (6 months) before he could move in. But it was worth the risk and the wait.
Bayview was the scene of many wonderful occasions. Happy Birthday Gareth Price.
